Temperature checks

Fridge and freezer temperature logs

Check the temperature. Enter the reading. Move to the next unit.

The problem

Paper logs get filled in at the end of the day, readings are copied from yesterday, and an out-of-range reading is written down with nothing about what was done.

How a round works

  1. Today shows which units are due — for example morning and evening rounds, on the days you are open.
  2. Enter each reading. The previous value is never pre-filled as a new measurement, and 0 °C is a real reading, not a blank.
  3. A reading outside the range you set asks what was done — moved the food, adjusted the unit, discarded stock — and can schedule a recheck.
  4. If a check can’t be done, record it as not taken with the reason.

The range in force when the reading was taken is kept with the record, so changing a unit later doesn’t rewrite history.

Afterwards

Records shows every reading with its time, person and any action, and exports them for a chosen period.
