Finding a delivery record by batch code
When a supplier recalls a batch, the question is simple: did we receive it, when, and where did it go?
At delivery: record what makes it findable
- The product and supplier.
- The batch or lot code exactly as printed — or that it wasn’t on the pack, or couldn’t be read.
- The use-by or best-before date, and which kind it is.
- A photo of the label, so the original can be checked later.
Later: search
In Hygivo, open Records, choose the location and a date range wide enough to cover the delivery, and search the batch code. Search ignores spaces, dashes and capitals, and finds corrected codes as well as the original. Results that only matched text read from a label photo — not a confirmed value — are marked as such.
If you can’t find it
Widen the date range, try part of the code, or search the product or supplier. An empty result is shown as empty — it means no matching record was saved in that range, not that the product never arrived.
Recalls
Follow the instructions in the recall notice and from your supplier. The FSAI publishes food alerts and recalls. This guide is general information, not advice for your business.
